HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-028 CCRMember Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73 -28 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE A SAFE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING ALONG T.H. 152 AT T.H. 100 AND INDICATING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COST WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center and the Minnesota Highway Department have demonstrated their concern for the health, safety and general welfare of pedestrians by providing sidewalk along the majority of T.H. 152; and WHEREAS, a safe pedestrian crossing does not exist along T.H. 152 at T.H. 100; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has expressed contin- uous concern for a safe pedestrian crossing at said location as indicated by Resolution No. 72 -24 adopted February 24, 1972; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center deems it necessary for the health, safety and general welfare of its pedestrians to provide for a safe pedestrian crossing at said location; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the City Council hereby requests the Minnesota Highway Department to provide a safe ped- estrian crossing along T.H. 152 at T.H. 100 in the City of Brooklyn Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center hereby indicates a willingness to participate in the cost of constructing a safe pedestrian crossing along T.H. 152 at T.H. 100 in the City of Brooklyn Center. February 26, 1973 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Maurice Britts, and Tony Kuefler; and the following voted against the same:none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
