HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-029 CCR1 1 Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO, 73 -29 RESOLUTION APPROVING NEW FARES FOR TAXICAB OPERATIONS IN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has the right to approve taxicab fares under Section 21 -108 of the Brooklyn Center City Ordinances; and WHEREAS, the Minneapolis City Council on February 23, 1973, passed an ordinance authorizing increased taxicab fares; and Center: ATTEST: WHEREAS, taxicab service is essential to certain citizens of Brooklyn NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Brooklyn Center City Council that the City of Brooklyn Center approves the following fares for taxicabs: 1. Mileage Charges. The rate of fare based upon mileage shall be as follows: For each load of five passengers or less for the first 1/9 mile or fraction thereof 65; for each succeeding 2/9 mile or fraction thereof 10. 2. Waiting Time. Charges for waiting time shall be as follows: For each one minute or fraction thereof 10; waiting time shall include the time when the taxicab is not in motion, beginning with the time of arrival at the place to which it has been called or the time consumed while it is standing at the direction of the passenger. No charge shall be made for the time lost on account of inefficiency of any taxicab or its operation or time consumed for premature response to a call. February 29, 1973 Date Mayor Al If pis Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, John Leary, and Tony Kuefler; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
