HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-030 CCR1 Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73 -30 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MORATORIUM ON ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL HOME OCCUPATION PERMITS WHEREAS, the City Council views with concern the establishment of business activities in homes in the residential districts; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance is based on the principle that business activity be conducted in commercial and industrial districts; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance provides for home occupations and special home occupations of very limited activity in the residential districts; and WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed a consensus directing the City administration to fully enforce the applicable ordinance requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined, based upon citizen inquiries and administrative data regarding the status of home occupations and special home occupations that there is a need to review and possibly revise the pertinent ordinance requirements: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to establish: March 12, 1973 ATTEST: Date A moratorium on the acceptance of applications for and the issuance of use permits for special home occupations, for a period of 90 days, effective the date of this resolution. Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, and Bill Fignar; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
