HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-036 CCRMember John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. and RESOLUTION NO. 73 -36 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ADOPTION OF HOUSE FILE 493, SENATE FILE 415 AND HOUSE FILE 520, SENATE FILE 416 REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF BEER AND LIQUOR LICENSE FEES WHEREAS, present state laws regulate liquor license fees for on -sale clubs and off -sale liquor establishments; and WHEREAS, state laws also regulate the level of beer license fees; WHEREAS, House File 520 and Senate File 416 would authorize municipalities to establish such liquor license fees; and WHEREAS, House File 493 and Senate File 415 would authorize municipalities to establish beer license fees: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: ATTEST: 1. The City Council supports the provisions of House File 520 and Senate File 416 relating to the establishment of liquor license fees and supports the provisions of House File 493 and Senate File 415 regarding the establishment of beer license fees. 2. The legislative representatives of the people of Brooklyn Center are herewith called upon to support adoption of this legislation, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the aforementioned legislators, to the chairman of the appropriate legislative committees, and to the governor of the State of Minnesota. March 12, 1973 Date Mayor er The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Tony Kuefler, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, and Bill Fignar; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
