Member Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WATER STORAGE TANK TOWER
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1973 -1 AND ORDERING PREPARATION
OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council did by Resolution No. 71 -29 dated
February 22, 1971, deem it necessary to initiate Water Storage Tank
and Tower Improvement Project No. 1971 -1; and
WHEREAS, other construction projects have held a higher
priority for construction during the past two years; and
WHEREAS, Improvement Project No. 1971 -1 has not been con-
structed; and
WHEREAS, the consulting firm of Black Veatch has recently
completed an analysis of our water distribution system and storage
needs and has reaffirmed the need for additional storage for the
City's water system; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to re- designate
Water Storage Tank Tower Improvement Project No. 1971 -1 as Improve-
ment Project No. 1973 -1;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center to direct the City Engineer to prepare plans
and specifications for said Water Storage Tank Tower Improvement
Project No. 1973 -1, described as follows:
1973 -1 Water Storage Tank Tower #3
1,500,000 gallon elevated steel water storage tank and
tower south of T.H. 100 and west of Shingle Creek.

RESOLUTION NO. 73 -40
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Tony Kuefler, and upon vote being taken thereon,
the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary,
Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, and Bill Fignar; and the following
voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted.
