moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 73 -48
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION OF AND APPRECIATION FOR
THE DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE OF MR. JEAN MURPHEY
WHEREAS, Mr. Jean Murphey served part time in the Building Inspection
Department from 1942 through 1951; and
WHEREAS, he served as a Building Inspector from 1958 through 1966; and
WHEREAS, he served as Chief Building Inspector from 1966 until his retirement
on April 1, 1973; and
WHEREAS, he served periodically as Planning Commission Secretary; and
WHEREAS, he has played a vital role in the physical development of the
community; and
WHEREAS, his participation in the formation and administration of City
building and land use policies has contributed substantially to the enhancement
of the community's life quality; and
WHEREAS, he has consistently executed his duties as City Building Official
in a professional and equitable manner; and
WHEREAS, he has promoted and participated in the quality growth of the
community as a long time resident; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate to convey the gratitude of the citizens of
Brooklyn Center for his long term service and contribution to the community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn
Center that:

for the long and dedicated public service of Chief Building Inspector
Jean Murphey upon his retire

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Maurice Britts and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Maurice Britts,
Tony Kuefler, and Bill Fignar;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
