and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.73 -107
RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL LAW, LAWS 1973, CHAPTER 659
RELATING TO HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, Special Law, Laws 1973, Chapter 659 (House File 1436)
provides as follows:
Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 462.425
or any other law or charter provision to the contrary, the city
councils of Brooklyn Center, Robbinsdale, and Brooklyn Park,
by ordinance, may provide that the city councils shall constitute
the housing and redevelopment authority of Brooklyn Center,
Robbinsdale, and Brooklyn Park, or may permit members of the
city councils to serve on said authority.
Section 2. The purpose, scope and authority of the housing and
redevelopment authority established pursuant to this act shall be
the same as that provided for under Minnesota Statutes,
Section 462.415 to 462.716;
Section 3. This act shall be effective for each of the cities of
Brooklyn Center, Robbinsdale, and Brooklyn Park, separately,
upon its approval by the governing body of the particular city
and upon compliance with Minnesota Statutes, Section 645.021; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 645.021 provides for local
approval of a special law by resolution of the local governing body and by
filing with the Secretary of State a certificate of essential facts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the foregoing act, Special Law, Laws 1973,
Chapter 659 (House File 1436) be approved, adopted, and ratified as it pertains
to the City of Brooklyn Center.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Maurice Britts,
and Bill Fignar;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
