HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-115 CCRMember Bill Fignar introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73 -115 RESOLUTION AMENDING WALKWAY NETWORK PLAN WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center did on May 3, 1971 adopt a walkway network plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognized at the time of the walk- way network plan adoption that certain minor amendments to the said plan might be required in the future to provide for a continuous walkway network; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to provide connecting walkways in the network at the following locations: 1) on 60th Avenue North from Beard Avenue to Brooklyn Boulevard; 2) on the extension of 61st Avenue North from Lee Avenue to Noble Avenue; 3) on Logan Avenue North from 72nd Avenue to approximately 180 feet northerly; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to provide safe pedestrian access to Evergreen Park along 72nd Avenue North from Dupont Avenue to Bryant Avenue; and WHEREAS, after further review of pedestrian utilization, the City Council deems it necessary to relocate the walkway connect- ing County Road 10 with Northport Drive from Admiral Lane to Northport Drive; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the walkway network plan be amended as follows: 1) To include the following: a) 60th Avenue North from Beard Avenue to Brooklyn Blvd. b) Extension of 61st Avenue North from Lee Avenue to Noble Avenue. c) 72nd Avenue North from Dupont Ave. to Bryant Ave. d) Logan Avenue North from 72nd Avenue to approximately 180 feet northerly. e) Northport Drive from County Road 10 to Admiral Lane. 2) To delete the following: a) Admiral Lane from County Road 10 to Northport Drive. 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 73 -115 l uly 9 19 7 3 ATTEST: Date Mayor Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Maurice Britts, and Bill Fignar; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. 291
