HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-014 CCR i Member Maurice Britts introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 72 -14 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH THE HENNEPIN COUNTY ALCOHOL SAFETY ACTION PROTECT WHEREAS, the Minnesota Commission on alcohol problems in con- junction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the U. S. Department of Transportation has created an Alcohol Safety Action Project which applies in part to Hennepin County; and WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Alcohol Safety Action Project is undertaking a counter measures program dealing with the drinking /driving problem; and WHEREAS, the counter measures program includes increased patrol activity for the purpose of detection and arrest of those in violation of Minnesota Statute 169.121, pertaining to driving while intoxicated, as well as standardized recording- keeping concerning such activity; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has been requested to par- ticipate in the program: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to enter into an agreement with the Hennepin County Alcohol Safety Action Project for the purpose of participating in the counter measures program. January 31, 1972 Date Mayor ATTEST: eputy C erk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Aus en, Howard Heck and Maurice Britts; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
