moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 72 -20
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AA RECERTIFICATION OF A TAX LEVY
FOR 1972 BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center on October 6,
1971 did adopt Resolution No. 71 -194 which authorized a tax levy for 1972 budget
appropriations, and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the certification of the resolution to the
Hennepin County Auditor for spreading upon the tax rolls, the Legislature of
the State of Minnesota did pass into law the Omnibus Tax Law of 1971 (Extra
Session Laws 1971, Chapter 31), and
WHEREAS, said Omnibus Tax Law did increase state aids to municipalities;
place limitations on taxes that municipalities could levy without penalty; and
required all municipalities to recertify their tax levy to comply with provisions
of the law:
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center to recertify a tax levy for 1972 Budget Appropriations as
follows:
1. There is hereby approved for expenditures from general taxes,
the following sums for the purpose indicated:
City Operation and Administration 775,848
Poor Relief 37,000
Firemen's Relief Association 32,038
Employees' Retirement 70,000
Policemen's Pension 58,923

The foregoing does not include levies already certified to the
County Auditor for the payment of outstand ng loans which levies for the
year 1972 are as follows:
Park Bond Redemption 28,700
1969 Building and Improvement
Bond Redemption 191,700
220,400
2. There is hereby levied upon all taxable property lying within the
City of Brooklyn Center, in addition to all levies heretofore certified to the
County Auditor as indicated in paragraph one hereof, the sum of $93,809
