HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-023 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 72 -23 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR CLEANING PAINTING OF THE EXTERIOR INTERIOR OF ONE 1,000,000 GALLON ELEVATED WATER STORAGE TANK AND APPROVING CONTRACT FORM WHEREAS, the periodic inspection program has revealed the necessity to clean and paint the exterior and interior of the City's 1,000,000 gallon elevated water storage tank located near 69th and Dupont Avenues North; and WHEREAS, the inspection has revealed certain other minor work which should be accomplished; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer and City Treasurer have reported that on February 10, 1972 at 2:00 o'clock P.M., central standard time, they opened and tabulated bids received for cleaning and painting of the exterior and interior of said water storage tank, and that said bids were as follows: 1) Abhe Svoboda, West St. Paul, Minn. 14,230.00 2) Schumann Bros., Inc., White Bear Lake, Minn. $15,300.00 3) Allied Protective Coatings, Inc., Mpls., Minn. $18,076.00 4) Toombs- Anderson Co., Minneapolis, Minn. $19,500.00 5) Larson Tank Company, Minnetonka, Minn. $19,945.00 6) Neumann Co. Contractors, Inc., Oak Lawn, 1ll. $22,500.00 7) Brown Sandblasting Painting, Mpls., Minn. $23,000.00 and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the City Manager concur and recommend that the remedial maintenance work is necessary; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the bid of Abhe Svoboda in the amount of $14,230.00 as to furnishing of all work, labor and materials in connection with the cleaning and painting of the exterior and in- terior of one (1) 1,000,000 gallon elevated water storage tank, accord- ing to the specifications therefor now on file in the office of the City Clerk, is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said bid is hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute a contract with said bidder February 28, 1972 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 72 -23 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. Philip Cohen, john Leary and Howard Heck; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
