HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-024 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 72 -24 RESOLUTION APPROVING T.H. 152 HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION PLANS WITHIN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER FROM THE SOUTH CORPORATE LIMITS TO .25 MILES SOUTHEAST OF T.H. 100 WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Highways has prepared plans, special provisions and specifications for the improvement of a part of Trunk Highway No. 129 renumbered as Trunk Highway No. 152 within the corporate limits of the City of Brooklyn Center from the south corporate limits to 0.25 miles southeast of Trunk Highway No. 100; and WHEREAS, said plans are on file in the office of the Depart- ment of Highways, Saint Paul, Minnesota, being marked, labeled and identified as S.P. 2741 -11 and S.P. 2742 -15 (152 =129); and WHEREAS, said special provisions are on file in the office of the Department of Highways, Saint Paul, Minnesota, being marked, labeled and identified as S.P. 2741 -11 and S.P. 2742 -15 (152 =129), which, together with the Minnesota Department of Highways Specifi- cations for Highway Construction, dated January 1, 1972 on file in the office of the Commissioner of Highways, constitute the specifi- cations for said improvement of T.H. No. 129 renumbered as T.H. No. 152; and WHEREAS, copies of said plans and special provisions as so marked, labeled and identified are also on file in the office of the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the term "said plans and special provisions" as hereinafter used in the body of this resolution shall be deemed and intended to mean, refer to, and incorporate the plans and special provisions in the foregoing recitals particularly identi- fied and described; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has expressed continu- ing concern for a pedestrian crossing along T.H. 152 at T.H. 100 and for traffic signals at the intersection of T.H. 152 and the T.H. 100 interchange ramps; and WHEREAS, with the construction of sidewalk leading to the said pedestrian crossing, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center deems it necessary for the health, safety and general welfare of its pedestrians to provide for a safe pedestrian crossing at said location; and WHEREAS, it is the position of the City of Brooklyn Center that such facilities are integral and essential elements of the proposed T.H. 152 project; RESOLUTION NO. 72 -24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota: 1. That the said plans and special provisions for the im- provement of T.H. 129 renumbered as T.H. 152 within the limits of the City of Brooklyn Center be and hereby are approved subject to the qualification that the Minnesota Highway Department provide the City of Brooklyn Center with a firm schedule for the construction and installa- tion of traffic signals at T.H. 152 and the T.H. 100 interchange ramps, and of a safe pedestrian crossing on T.H. 152 over T.H. 100, such schedule to be sub- mitted to the City of Brooklyn Center prior to or concurrent with any proposed cost participation agree ment relative to S.P. 2741 -11 and S.P. 2742 -15 (152 -129). 2. That the elevations and grades as shown in said plans and special provisions be and they are hereby approved and consent is hereby given to any and all changes in grade occasioned by construction of said T.H. 129 renumbered as T.H. 152 in accordance with said plans and special provisions.
