moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO 71 -133
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE UPGRADING
OF POLICE AND SHERIFF RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS TO
INCLUDE MOBILE TELEPRINTERS
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center recognized the growth
complexities of law enforcements and a need for sophisticated_and
rapid police communications and criminal information retrieval:,:,
methods; and
WHEREAS,, Hennepin County is submitting an application for a
Federal grant under the Descretionary Grant Program, Title 1,
omnibus Crime Bill and Safe Street Acts 1968 for upgrading the present
police and sheriff radio communication systems to include mobile
teleprinters operations; and
WHEREAS, the various law enforcement jurisdication in Hennepin
County will be participating in the use of the proposed system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brooklyn Center
will participate in the system in accordance with the provisions
contained in the Federal Grant program and will participate in the
cost sharing of the system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that should Federal funds be reduced or
eliminated it is understood that local yearly cost to each user will
be increased in the same proportion as the percentage of reduction of
funds should the City choose to stay on the system.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Vernon Ausen and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen,
John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted.
