and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 71 -186
RESOLUTION AUTHORZING PARTICIPATION OF THE CITY OF
BROOKLYN CENTER WITH MTC TO CONTINUE THE BROOKLYN
CENTER BUS SERVICE UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 1971 AND AUTHORIZING
THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS
WHEREAS, on May 24, 1971 the City of Brooklyn Center authorized the
expenditure of $2500 for the operation of an internal bus circulator; and
WHEREAS, on June 2, 1971 the Metropolitan Transit Commission
resolved to provide $2500 of matching funds to operate an internal bus circulator
for the City of Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, the $5,000 jointly contributed by the City of Brooklyn Center
and the Metropolitan Transit Commission will be nearly depleted on September 25,
1971; and
WHEREAS, on September 17, 1971 the Metropolitan Transit Commission
resolved that the service should continue and toward that goal the Commission
proposed to provide up to $2500 for its operation, until December 31, 1971 on
the condition that the City of Brooklyn Center will provide all the additional
funds necessary to continue the operation until that date;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to accept the aforementioned proposal and to agree
to provide all the additional funds necessary to continue the operation of the
Brooklyn Center bus system until December 31, 1971.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $1,500 of unexpended monies
be transferred from the General Fund, Ma n it C ntingency Fund
to the Transit Fund.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen,
Howard Heck and Theodore Willard;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
