HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-226 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 -226 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF MAIL ADDRESSING EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, Section 6.05 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center requires that the City Manager must first obtain the approval of the City Council prior to making or letting contracts for the purchase of merchandise, materials or equipment, or any kind of construction work when the amount of such contract exceeds One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) but is less than Twenty -five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00); and WHEREAS, Section 6.06 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center provides for the purchase of patented equipment by a 4/5 vote; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the purchase of a patented Model 74 Scriptomatic Addressing System at a cost of $1,995.00: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Manager be authorized to contract for the purchase of addressing equipment in the amount of $1,995.00 from Addressing and Duplicatiny Systems Incorporated, 1632 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to direct payment consisting of $850.00 from the Park and Recreation Account in the 1972 budget and $1, 145.00 from the Public Utilities Fund. November 22, 1971 Date Mayor ATTEST Clerk`` The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Vernon Ausen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
