HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-239 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 -239 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR AND RECOGNITION OF THE EFFORTS AND SERVICE OF MR. EDWIN COLEMAN WHEREAS, Mr. Edwin Coleman served as Civil Defense Director for the City of Brooklyn Center from March 30, 1964 to December 1, 1971; and WHEREAS, his devotion to the tasks of organizing, coordinating and managing a viable Civil Defense program resulted in the effective provision for emergency preparedness in the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, due to his determined efforts a Civil Defense education program was implemented which stimulated citizen partic- ipation in the planning and preparation for possible emergency conditions in the City of Brooklyn Center; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that: The City of Brooklyn Center expresses appreciation for and recognition of the efforts and service of Mr. Edwin Coleman as Civil Defense Director. January 3, 1972 Date Mayor ATTEST: 9 f Y��,-�- v Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
