adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 71 -94
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTATIONS FOR CIVIC
CENTER CHAIRS
WHEREAS, on January 18, 1971 the City Council adopted Resolution No.
71 -9 accepting furniture bids for the Civic Center, including the bid of
Metropolitan Office Equipment Company to furnish 412 stacking chairs; and
WHEREAS, the chairs are an essential element to the impending June 1971
opening of the Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the inability of the Metropolitan Office Equipment Company to
meet the delivery provisions of the contract due to a supplier's strike resulted
in the City Council cancelling the contract with Metropolitan Office Equipment
Company; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to meet the late June deadline for chair delivery
the City Manager sought and received quotations for 412 Steelcase stacking chairs
as follows:
St.Paul Book Stationery Co. 412 chairs $18.30 ea. $7,539.60
Dayton's Contract Division 412 chairs $18.75 ea. $7,725.00 and
WHEREAS, the unit price of $18.30 per chair is competitive to the unit
prices bid on January 18, 1971:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to accept the quotation of St.Paul Book Stationery
Company in the amount of $7,539. 60 for 412 stacking chairs and to authorize
the Mayor and City Manager to execute a contract with said company.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore
Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution
was declared duly passed and adopted.
