HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-094 CCR Member Vernon Ausen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 -94 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTATIONS FOR CIVIC CENTER CHAIRS WHEREAS, on January 18, 1971 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 71 -9 accepting furniture bids for the Civic Center, including the bid of Metropolitan Office Equipment Company to furnish 412 stacking chairs; and WHEREAS, the chairs are an essential element to the impending June 1971 opening of the Civic Center; and WHEREAS, the inability of the Metropolitan Office Equipment Company to meet the delivery provisions of the contract due to a supplier's strike resulted in the City Council cancelling the contract with Metropolitan Office Equipment Company; and WHEREAS, in an effort to meet the late June deadline for chair delivery the City Manager sought and received quotations for 412 Steelcase stacking chairs as follows: St.Paul Book Stationery Co. 412 chairs $18.30 ea. $7,539.60 Dayton's Contract Division 412 chairs $18.75 ea. $7,725.00 and WHEREAS, the unit price of $18.30 per chair is competitive to the unit prices bid on January 18, 1971: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to accept the quotation of St.Paul Book Stationery Company in the amount of $7,539. 60 for 412 stacking chairs and to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute a contract with said company. May 3, 1971 Date Mayor ATTEST: `Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
