HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-016 CCR Member Theodore Vuillard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 -16 RESOLUTION REVOKING THE STATE AID DESIGNATION OF A SECTION OF SHINGLE CREEK PARKWAY WHEREAS, Shingle Creek Parkway between County Road 130 and the north corporate limits of the City of Brooklyn Center has prev- iously been designated as a State Aid street in accordance with the Laws of Minnesota 1959, Chapter 500, and is included as Segment No. 109 -040, and WHEREAS, the proposed alignment of this segment of Shingle Creek Parkway lies within the Palmer Lake Park Basin, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center has recently reviewed its planning concepts and its ecological and environmental responsibilities and has concluded that this section of Shingle Creek Parkway violates such concepts and responsibilities, and WHEREAS, this segment of Shingle Creek Parkway is not essential to the transportation network for the City of Brooklyn Center; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the State Aid designation for Shingle Creek Parkway between County Road 130 and the north corporate limits of the City of Brooklyn Center be revoked. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby author ized and directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Highways. January 18, 1971 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
