HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-024 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 -24 RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO DISSOLUTION OF SUBURBAN SANITARY SEWER COMMISSION WHEREAS, Brooklyn Center entered into a joint and cooperative agree- ment for the establishment of the Suburban Sanitary Sewer Commission during the year 1963; and WHEREAS, such commission has accomplished its purposes; and WHEREAS, sanitary sewage disposal facilities are now owned by and are the responsibility of the Metropolitan Sewer Board; and WHEREAS, there appears to be no reason for the continuance of the Suburban Sanitary Sewer Commission; and WHEREAS, such commission has funds remaining on hand contributed by its members, including this municipality: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota as follows: 1. Brooklyn Center herewith gives its consent to the dissolution of the Suburban Sanitary Sewer Commission, contingent upon consent to such dissolution by all of the members of the commission; 2. Such consent shall be effective as soon as consent of all of the members of the commission has been received by the chairman of the commission; 3. Upon receipt of such consent by all member municipalities the officers of the commission are authorized and directed to return all unexpended funds of the commission to the municipalities which have been members, on a pro -rata basis, in proportion to contributions made by them. February 8, 1971 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member theodore Willard and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereup said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
