resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 71 -26
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MEMBERS OF
YOUTH ORGANIZATION STEERING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council on December 15, 1969 initially
approved the concept of a "Teen Council and
WHEREAS, on June 1, 1970 the City Council established
the Youth Organization Steering Committee to study and recommend
regarding the needs of youth; and
WHEREAS, since establishment of the Steering Committee
the members have diligently worked to carry out their function;
and
WHEREAS, the Steering Committee efforts have been
fruitful in recommending creation of a Youth Advisory Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to express sincere appre-
ciation to each member of the Youth Organization Steering Committee
for their efforts on behalf of the community.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was
duly seconded by member john Leary and upon vote being
taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen,
John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
