and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 71 -34
RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
INSTALLATION COST OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS TO BE CONSTRUCTED
BY THE MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AT THE T.H.100 AND
COUNTY ROAD 10 INTERCHANGE
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways,
proposes to install traffic signals at the Trunk Highway 100 and
County Road 10 interchange located in the City of Brooklyn Center
in Hennepin County;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by Y
the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center, that following approval by the Minnesota
Department of Highways and the City of Brooklyn Center of plans
and specifications for said improvement of said Trunk Highway,
and before a contract is awarded for the construction of said
improvement, the City will consider entering into an agreement
with the State which will provide that the City shall pay its
share of the cost of the improvement as determined by the State
consistent with the latest edition of the Minnesota Highway
Department's "Basic Policies and Procedures Cooperative Construc-
tion Projects with Municipalities a copy of which has been re-
ceived from the Minnesota Highway Deparment's District Engineer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the State lets the construc-
tion contract, the municipality will deposit with the State on
demand, after the execution of the agreement and before the start
of construction,a sum equal to an estimate of the City's share as
prepared by the Minnesota Department of Highways.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen,
John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
