HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-041 CCR Member Vernon Ausen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING STREET BASE, SURFACING SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1971 -8 AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WHEREAS, the City Council established Street Base Surfacing Improvement Project No. 1970 -18 by Resolution No. 70 -93 adopted July 13, 1970, and WHEREAS, a portion of said project was constructed during the 1970 construction season, and WHEREAS, said project was limited to the construction of one 27 -foot roadway without sidewalk, and WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center requesting full construction (two 27 -foot roadways) of Shingle Creek Parkway from County Road 10 to approximately 4100 feet north of County Road 10, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to construct sidewalk on both sides of said portion of Shingle Creek Parkway, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it reasonable and in the best interests of the City not to amend Street Base Surfacing Improve- ment Project No. 1970 -18, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to initiate Street Base, Surfacing Sidewalk Improvement Project No. 1971 -8. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to direct the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement project, described as follows: 1971 -8 Street Base, Surfacing Sidewalk (M.S.A.P.No.09- 109 -07) Shingle Creek Parkway from County Road 10 to approximately 4100 feet north of County Road 10. March 8, 1971 Date y Mayor ATTEST: Cle'rk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen and Howard Heck; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
