HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-063 CCR Member john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71 -63 RESOLUTION REQUESTING MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALK ON BOTH SIDES OF T.H.152 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center is in the process of adopting a comprehensive sidewalk program; and WHEREAS, the proposed sidewalk on both sides of T.H.152 is deemed the top priority of the proposed comprehensive sidewalk program; and WHEREAS, by Minnesota Highway Department Directive No. 5 -101 -C dated April, 1970, the Minnesota Highway Department recognizes an obligation for their share of the cost of provid- ing sidewalk where its absence would create a hazard to pedes- trians or motorists; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the absence of sidewalk on T.H.152 does create a hazard to pedestrians; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to request Minnesota Highway Department participation.in the cost of constructing sidewalk on both sides of T.H.152. April 5, 1971 Date Mayor ATTEST: 4 .2z- t City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Vernon Ausen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Ho%vard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
