HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-235 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO 70 235 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK (CONTRACTED BY CITY) WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Bergerson Caswell, Inc., has satisfactorily completed the following improvement in accordance with said contract: Deep Well Improvement Project No. 1970 -1 Construction of Well ##7 located approximately 70 feet west of future Camden Avenue and approximately 700 feet north of 70th Avenue North. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center: 1. The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved. 2. The value of work performed exceeded the original contract amount by $1,531.00 because of the following reasons: a) Additional hours of test pumping for yield and drawdown were required because the sand rock began caving into the hole after the initial test pumping had begun. The cave -in required removing the test pump, bailing out additional sand material, reinstalling the test pump, and additional test pumping. b) The depth of the '30" diameter hole and the length of the 24" diameter pipe exceeded the estimated quantities. 3. It is hereby confirmed that final payment shall be made on said contract on December 14, 1970, taking the contractor's receipt in full. The total amount to be paid for said contract for said improvement project is $36,291.00. December 7, 1970 Date Mayor L ATTEST: C erk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Vernon Ausen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
