and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO 70 235
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK
(CONTRACTED BY CITY)
WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the
City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Bergerson Caswell, Inc., has
satisfactorily completed the following improvement in accordance
with said contract:
Deep Well Improvement Project No. 1970 -1
Construction of Well ##7 located approximately 70 feet
west of future Camden Avenue and approximately 700 feet
north of 70th Avenue North.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center:
1. The work completed under said contract is hereby
accepted and approved.
2. The value of work performed exceeded the original
contract amount by $1,531.00 because of the following reasons:
a) Additional hours of test pumping for yield and drawdown
were required because the sand rock began caving into the hole after
the initial test pumping had begun. The cave -in required removing
the test pump, bailing out additional sand material, reinstalling
the test pump, and additional test pumping.
b) The depth of the '30" diameter hole and the length of
the 24" diameter pipe exceeded the estimated quantities.
3. It is hereby confirmed that final payment shall be made
on said contract on December 14, 1970, taking the contractor's
receipt in full. The total amount to be paid for said contract for
said improvement project is $36,291.00.
