moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 70 -240
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1970 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
I
WHEREAS, Section 7.09 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn
Center does provide for a contingency appropriation as a part of the General
Fund Budget and further provides that the contingency appropriation may be
transferred to any other appropriation by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter does also provide for the
increase of a budget appropriation by the City Council if the actual receipts
exceed the estimates; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter does also provide for the
transfer by the City Council of any unencumbered appropriation balances from
one office, department or agency to another within the same fund:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
Brooklyn Center that the 1970 General Fund Budget be amended as follows:
1. Transfer $20,623 from the Mayor and Council's Contingency Fund
Appropriation (Account No. 401 -48) to the following appropriations in the amounts
shown:
Mayor and Council's Professional and
Consultants' fees (#401 -13) 5,000.00
Office of the Assessor, Labor #4053 -10) 3,500.00
Legal Counsel, Professional and
Consultants' Fees #406 -13) 3,000.00
Legal Counsel, Law Library #406 -29) 423.00
Parks and Recreation, Labor #472 -10) 8,700.00
2. Increase the appropriation for the following budgeted items in the
amount listed for the reason that the actual receipts from the activity exceeded
the budget revenue estimate by at least the amount of the appropriation increase:
Parks and Recreation, Adult Programs #474 -1) 9,000.00
Parks and Recreation, Summer Playgrounds (#474 -2) 1,000.00
Library Maintenance, Utilities #462 -22) 1,500.00
Library Maintenance, Supplies #462 -39) 400.00

3. Transfer unencumbered appropriation balances between depart-
ments as follows:

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Vernon Ausen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, john Leary, Vernon Ausen,
Howard Heck and Theodore Willard;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
