HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-242 CCR I Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 70 -242 RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COST OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO BE CONSTRUCTED BY THE MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ON T.H. 152 FROM T.H. 100 INTERCHANGE TO THE SOUTH CITY LIMITS WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways, proposes to make certain improvements on a portion of Trunk Highway No. 152 located in the City of Brooklyn Center in Hennepin County, from the south end of the T.H. 100 Interchange to the south City limits, and WHEREAS the City ouncil of the City of Brooklyn Center Y Y Y approved preliminary plans for the improvement of T.H. 152 from T.H. 100 interchange to the south City limits by resolution on February 5, 1968; and WHEREAS, such improvements involve the following items which are of benefit to the City: Storm Sewer, Curb and Gutter, Sidewalk, Traffic Signals, Prorated share of related incidental costs, and 8% Engineering. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, that following approval by the Minnesota Department of Highways and the City of Brooklyn Center of plans and specifications for said improvements of said trunk highway and before a contract is awarded for the construction of said improvements, the City will consider entering into an agreement with the State which shall provide that the City shall pay its share of the cost of the improvements as determined by the State consistent with the latest edition of Minnesota Highway Department, "Basic Policies and Procedures, Cooperative Construction Projects with Municipalities a copy of which has been received from the Minnesota Highway Department's District Engineer, and that if the State lets the construction contract, the municipality will deposit with the State upon demand, after the execution of the agreement and before the start of construction, a sum equal to an estimate of the City's share as prepared by the Minnesota Department of Highways. RESOLUTION NO. 70 -242 December 21, 1970 Date Mayor ATTEST: v 3 Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Vernon Ausen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. I
