HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-243 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 70 -243 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FILL MATERIAL FOR THE NEW CITY HALL COMMUNITY CENTER SITE WHEREAS, Section 6:05 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center requires that the City Manager first obtain the approval of the City Council prior to making or letting contracts for the purchase of merchandise, materials or equip- ment, or any kind of construction work when the amount of such contract exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) but is less than twenty -five hundred dollars ($2,500.00); and WHEREAS, the City Manager has obtained a quotation for fill material from Tract A, R.L.S. #1300 (State Farm Insurance Building site) for the new City Hall and Community Center site, and has determined that the quotation of Brooklyn Center Industrial Park, Inc., 6128 Logan Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows is an equitable quotation: Item Qty.(Cu.Yd.)* Unit Price Amount Fill material delivered to City Hall site•-• 3,800 $0.50 /cu yd $1,900.00 Fill material picked up by City 1,000 $0.30 /cu yd 300.00 Total Amount: $2,200.00 *By cross section measurement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Manager be authorized to contract for the purchase of fill mat ial for the new City Hall and Community Center site in unt f ,200.00. December 21, 1970 Date Mayor ATTEST: 'Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Theodore Willard, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
