HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-026 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO.70 -:26 RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH BROOKLYN CENTER POLICE CLERK DISPATCHERS AND SETTING 1970 SALARIES WHEREAS, on December 30, 1969 the Brooklyn Center City Council adopted Resolution No. 69 -355 Setting Wages and Salaries for the year 1970; and WHEREAS, provision was made in Resolution No. 69 -355 to defer setting certain 1970 salaries until agreements were negotiated with certain personnel; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Police Clerk Dispatchers on February 16, 1970 arrived at a tentative 1970 compensation agreement; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council has reviewed the terms of the tentative agreement and concurs therewith: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to approve the 1970 compensation agreement between the City of Brooklyn Center and the Brooklyn Center Police Clerk Dispatchers as follows: 1. The "top Police Stenographer" classification, normally attainable after 24 months of service with the department shall be paid at the rate of $750 per month, and the "top Clerk Dispatcher" classification, normally attainable after 30 months of service with the department shall be paid at the rate of $681 per month. 2. The salary provisions shall be paid retroactive to January 1, 1970. 3. The City of Brooklyn Center shall obtain and pay the premium for a $5,000 term life insurance policy for each employee, to be effective at the earliest possible date but not later than May 1, 1970. 4. The City of Brooklyn Center shall provide five uniform shirts, two uniform ties, and two name tags per employee. The City Manager is hereby directed to implement the terms of the proposed agreement. I RESOLUTION NO. 70 -26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to amend Resolution No. 69 -355 as follows: GRADE MONTHLY WAGE DEPARTMENT JOB TITLE CLASSIFICATION OR HOURLY RATE Police Protection Clerk -Steno Starting A 615 6 Months B 649 6 Months C 683 6 Months D 717 6 Months E 750 Clerk- Dispatcher Starting A 581 6 Months B 601 6 Months C 621 6 Months D 641 6 Months E 661 6 Months F 681 February 16, 1970 Date Mayor ATTEST Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted.
