K Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 70 -34 RESOLUTION AWARDING BIDS FOR MUNICIPAL CIVIC CENTER WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City Clerk report that on March 26, 1970 at 2 P.M. Cook Construction in the amount of $975,900.00 constitutes the lowest and best General Construction bid; and WHEREAS, the base bid and selected alternate bids of Reliable Electric Co. Inc. in the amount of $181,222.00 constitutes the lowest and best Electrical Construction bid; and WHEREAS, the base bid and selected alternate bids of the Harris Brothers Plumbing in the amount of $418,100.00 constitutes the lowest and best Mechanical Construction bid: Resolution No. 70 -34 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that the bids of the George F. Cook Construction, Reliable Electric Co. Inc. and Harris Brothers Plumbing in the amounts of $975,900.00, 181,222.00, and 418,100.00 respectively, as to furnishing all work, labor and material in connection with the above mentioned improvement projects according to the plans and specifications therefore now on file in the office of the City Clerk, are deemed to be the lowest and best bids submitted for said work by the responsible bidders, and said bids are hereby accepted and approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute contracts with said bidders.
