HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-068 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 70 -68 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTINUED PAYMENTS TO MINNEAPOLIS FOR USE OF MINNEAPOLIS -ST. PAUL SANITARY DISTRICT SEWERAGE WORKS WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement dated November 10, 1966 with Minneapolis whereby Minneapolis has agreed to make certain of its sewers and its capacity in the Minneapolis -St. Paul Sanitary District sewerage works available for use by the City, and the City has agreed to pay for such use; and WHEREAS, Minneapolis is required each year to pay a share of the costs of the Minneapolis -St. Paul Sanitary District for its sewerage works and their operation and maintenance in accordance with the budget adopted by the Sanitary District Board; and WHEREAS, on August 1, 1970 the District, and all of its property and contract rights, including the obligations of Minneapolis and St. Paul to make payments to the District in accordance with its 1970 budget, will be taken over, acquired and assumed by the Metropolitan Sewer Board pursuant to Minnesota Laws 1969, Chapter 449, Section 5; and WHEREAS, Minneapolis and St. Paul will be required by the Metropolitan Sewer Board to continue to fund the Sanitary District 1970 budget and to provide funds for payment of debt service in 1970 on bonds issued for Sanitary District sewerage works to be assumed by the Sewer Board: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the City_ will continue to make use of the Minneapolis -St. Paul Sanitary District sewerage works between August 1..,_1970 and December 31, 1970, and that the City will continue to pay Minneapolis there -for as provided in said agreement dated November 10, 1966, and any agreements amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto June 1, 1970 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Vernon Ausen and upon vote being taken the reon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck, and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. I
