HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-084 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 70 -84 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONCEPT OF WILD LIFE HABITAT AREA AND ENVIRONMENTAL PARK PROPOSED BY BROOKLYN CENTER CONSERVATION COMMISSION WHEREAS, on June 16, 1970 the Brooklyn Center Conservation Commission adopted a resolution recommending the development of a 40 -acre parcel within the Crystal Airport properties as a wild life habitat and an environmental park; and WHEREAS, the Conservation Commission has gained the tentative approval of the Metropolitan Airports Commission representatives and has coordinated its proposal with appropriate City of Crystal agencies and authorities; and WHEREAS, the Conservation Commission has met with the Brooklyn Center Park and Recreation Commission and secured endorsement of the proposal: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City 'Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to support the general concept of the Brooklyn Center Conservation Commission proposal and to authorize the City Manager to enter into the necessary negotiations with the involved governmental agencies and to make necessary arrangements to implement the proposal. July 13, 1970 Z Date Mayor ATTEST: U Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted.
