HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-250 CCR 241_ Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 69 -.250 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF LUMBER FOR HOCKEY RINKS WHEREAS, Section 6 :05 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center requires that the City Manager first obtain the approval of the City Council prior to making or letting contracts for the purchase of merchandise, materials or equipment, or any kind of construction work when the amount of such contract exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) but is less than twenty -five hundred dollars ($2,500.00); and WHEREAS, the City Manager has obtained quotations on the purchase of lumber for hockey rinks and has determined that the quotation of Federal Lumber Company in the amount of $165.00 per thousand board feet for approx- imately 12,650 board feet of lumber ($2,091.00) is the best quotation submitted:. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Manager be authorized to contract for the purchase of such lumber for hockey rinks from Federal Lumber Company. June 9, 1969 Date Mayor Pro -tem ATTEST: J Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Rydberg, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
