HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-268 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 69 -268 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES DIVISION RATE SCHEDULE AS IT PERTAINS TO METER DEPOSITS WHEREAS, in the interest of a more efficient operation and with the view of a possible monthly billing in specific commercial enterprises, remote reading water meters are needed for all 1 -inch and larger water meters, and WHEREAS, the present residential water meter deposit is insufficient to cover the purchase costs and handling of said meters. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota as follows: 1. For past meter installations 1 -inch and larger, a remote reading device will be installed by the Public Utilities Division and the cost therefor billed to the customer. This cost is estimated to be $25.00 per installation. 2. On new meter installations 1 -inch and larger, an additional charge will be made to reflect the cost of the remote reading device. This cost will be included as a part of the meter deposit, and the customer will bear the cost of the in- stallation. 3. To reflect the higher cost of meters, the residen- tial meter deposit (5/8" x 3/4 will be $35.00 after September 1, 1969. The meter refund will be in the amount that was deposited by the respective customer.
