HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-270 CCR 287~ Member john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 69 -270 RESOLUTION AMENDING REIMBURSEMENT POLICIES WHEREAS, by resolution dated Feburary 11, 1962, the (then) Village Council established a meal reimbursement policy which provided that "$1.25 will be allowed for meals connected with the attendance at training sessions when meals are an integral part of the program or when there are training sessions before and after the meal, or, for attendance at regular luncheon meetings of professional or related associations, and WHEREAS, on June 28, 1965, the Council adopted Resolution No. 65 -114 relating to a policy of reimbursement for travel expenses incurred by employees and which provided among other things that "No. 9. Reimbursement for meals will be for actual expenditures with a maximum of $7.00 per day allowable, including tips. There is no per diem for meals or any other expenses. For a reimbursement of any fraction of a full days meals the following schedule shall be the maximum allowable per meal: a. Breakfast $1.50 b. Lunch $2.00 c. Dinner $3.50 The maximum meal allowance shall not apply to meals which are a scheduled activity of a conference and the cost of which is not included in the registration fee. No. 11. If personal automobiles are used for trips within a radius of 500 miles, expenditures will be reimbursed at 7 -1/2� per mile. On outside trips outside a radius of 500 miles in which personal automobiles are used, expenditures will be reimbursed at 7 -1/2� per mile or an amount equal to air travel tourist, whichever is the lesser. and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that the reimbursement policies be amended to reflect the current cost of purchasing meals and providing personal automobiles for business use: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: The policy. established by Council resolution on February 11, 1962 is hereby amended by increasing the reimbursement for luncheon and dinner costs from $1.25 to $2.00. 28 9 Resolution No. 69 -270 The policy established by Council Resolution No. 65 -114 is hereby amended by increasing the maximum meal reimbursement from $7.00 per day to $10.00 per day, increasing the breakfast allowance from $1.50 to $2. 00 per day, increasing the lunch allowance from $2.00 to $3.00 per day, and increasing the dinner allowance from $3.50 to $5.00 per day. Item 11 of Resolution No. 65 -114 is hereby amended to provide for a reimbursement rate of 9� per mile for business use of personal automobiles.
