Member, john Leary introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 69 -88
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PARK LANDS
WHEREAS, Parcel 5500 of Section 35 is located south of and
contiguous to Garden City Park; and
WHEREAS, Parcel 130 of Auditor's Subdivision No. 218 is
contiguous to Parcel of 5500 of Section 35 and is also contiguous
Shingle Creek; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the City of
Brooklyn Center to acquire Parcel 5500 and the easterly 100 feet
of Parcel 130, Auditor's Subdivision No. 218:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to purchase for the sum of
$4,297.00 the following described property:
1. That part of the South 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 35,
Township 119, Range 21, described as beginning at the South-
east corner of Block 11, Garden City lst Addition which
point is marked by a Judicial Landmark set pursuant to
Torrens Case No. 13186, thence North along the East line
of said Block 11 a distance of 202.92 feet to a Judicial
Landmark set pursuant to Torrens Case No. 13186; thence
continuing North along the extension of the East line of
said Block 11 a distance of 30.08 feet; thence East
parallel to the South line of Section 35 to the center
line of Shingle Creek; thence Southerly along said center
line to the South line of said Section 35; thence West
to the point of beginning, according to the Government
Survey thereof.
2. 100 foot wide green strip along Shingle Creek
The east one hundred feet of Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision
Number 218, Hennepin County, Minnesota, the North line of
said lot being marked by Judicial Landmarks set pursuant
to Torrens Case No. 13186, according to the recorded plat
thereof.

RESOLUTION NO. 69 -88
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Earl Rydberg and upon vote being taken
thereon the following voted in favor thereof; Philip Cohen, John
Leary, Earl Rydberg, and Howard Heck;
and the following voted against the same, none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
