HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-092 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO, 69 -92 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE TEMPORARY FINANCING FOR THE MUNICIPAL TURN BACK ACCOUNT WHEREAS, the funding provisions for the Municipal Turn Back Account as established in 1965 are inadequate; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the principles set forth in a resolution adopted by the League of Minnesota Municipalities regarding financing the Municipal Turn BadcAccount: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council endorses and supports the adoption of appropriate legislation specifically House File 563 to permit the Commissioner of Highways to sell bonds against the accrual to the Municipal Turn Back Account in order to finance necessary maintenance improvements on these Roads. 2. The Representatives of the people of Brooklyn Center in the Senate and House of Representatives are herewith urged to work for the adoption of this legislation. 3. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, and Representatives of the 32nd Legislative District, and the Chairmen of the appropriate legislative committees.
