HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-093 CCR X57 Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 69 -93 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LEGISLATION AUTHORIZING AN ANNUAL MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION AS OUTLINED IN HOUSE FILE NO. 409 AND SENATE FILE NO. 313 WHEREAS, at present there is no annual motor vehicle inspection in the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the accident record of the State of Minnesota indicates a need for legislation which would allow for annual motor vehicle inspection establishing a system of mandatory annual inspections of all motor vehicles, brakes, lighting equipment, exhaust systems, and other safety related items; and l WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the principles set forth in r a resolution adopted by the League of Minnesota Municipalities regarding the need for the 1969 legislature to enact appropriate legislation to require annual motor vehicle inspection: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council endorses and'supports the adoption of annual motor vehicle inspections specifically House File No. 409 and Senate File No. 313. 2. The Representatives of the people of Brooklyn Center in the Senate and House of Representatives are herewith urged to work for the adoption of this legislation. 3. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, Representatives of the 32nd Legislative District and the Chairmen of the appropriate legislative committees.
