HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-101 CCR 149_ Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 69 -101 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SENATE FILE NO. 681 AND HOUSE FILE NO. 964 RELATING TO THE DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE WHEREAS, problems relating to the disposal of solid waste have been increasing rapidly in recent years; and WHEREAS, for the protection of the public health, safety and welfare it is necessary to provide for the efficient and economic disposal of solid waste and to regulate the location and operation of solid waste disposal sites. and facilities; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and generally concurs with the recommendations of the Solid Waste Committee of the Metropolitan Council: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council endorses and supports the adoption of solid waste legislation as set forth in Senate File No. 681 and House File No. 964. Repre- sentatives of the citizens of Brooklyn Center in the Senate and the House of Representatives are herewith urged to work for the adoption of this legislation. 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the Representatives of the 32nd Legis- lative District, and the Chairmen of the appropriate legislative committees. Deputy City dl�rk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, john Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
