HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-252 CCRMember Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 68 -252 RESOLUTION APPROVING EXTENSION OF DICKINSON LINES, INC. BUS ROUTES IN BROOKLYN CENTER AND ENDORSING THE CONCEPT OF A CROSSTOWN BUS ROUTE WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council has determined that there is a need and desire for additional transit service in Brooklyn Center and the north suburban area; and WHEREAS, the Dickinson Lines, Inc. has requested approval of an alteration and extension of the service that the company provides to Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the alteration and extension of said service would provide improved bus service to Brooklyn Center and the north suburban area: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to approve the request of Dickinson Lines, Inc. to alter and extend its present service in Brooklyn Center as approved by the Metropolitan Transit Commission Special Committee on Suburban Operations: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center does endorse the concept of a crosstown connector route on County Road No. 10 (Bass Lake Road) to more extensively serve the citizens of the North Hennepin area. Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydbe rg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. 37
