RESOLUTION PETITIONING THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF
THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO REQUIRE THE INSTALLATION OF
SIGNAL DEVICES AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE SOO LINE RAILROAD
AND FRANCE AVENUE NORTH IN BROOKLYN CENTER
WHEREAS, the Soo Line Railroad intersection with France Avenue North
in Brooklyn Center is not presently protected by crossing signals; and
WHEREAS, substantial vehicular traffic exceeding 2,000 vehicles per
day passes through the intersection; and
WHEREAS, the railroad alignment is skewed relative to France Avenue
North; and
WHEREAS, the railroad alignment contains a curve to the west of
France Avenue, further obstructing the view of the motorist; and

difficult to identify on- coming trains at night, particularly to the west of the curve
portion:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to petition the Public Service Commission for a
full investigation of the Soo Line Railroad intersection with France Avenue
