HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-140 CCR1 1 1 Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO, 68 -140 RESOLUTION RE TAX FORFEITED LAND TO THE STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS, tax forfeited land described as Outlot 1, except the north 84 feet thereof, Twin Lake Woods 2nd Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota was conveyed to the City of Brooklyn Center for street purposes in 1968; and WHEREAS, said tax forfeited land is a parcel 3 feet wide by 86 feet long lying immediately west of and contiguous to Ewing Avenue North and lying east of and immediately contiguous to a parcel of land owned by one Alice H. Reese of 5242 France Avenue North; and WHEREAS, Alice H. Reese, in causing her property to be recently surveyed was advised by the land surveyor that a portion of her property above described had become tax delinquent; and WHEREAS, Alice H. Reese discussed the matter with the City Manager and has offered to pay all delinquent obligations to reclaim her property; and WHEREAS, the City Manager, upon investigating the matter, has concluded that the failure to make annual tax payments was caused by an incorrect assign- ment of ownership in the County records; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that procedures be instituted to reconvey the forfeited land to the State of Minnesota for subsequent claim by Alice H. Reese: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to reconvey Outlot 1, except the north 84 feet thereof, Twin Lake Woods 2nd Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota to the State of Minnesota; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute the appropriate reconveyance document entitled "Reconveyance of Portions of Forfeited Lands to State of Minnesota by Governmental Subd g sions ATTEST: June 24, 1968 Date Clerk Mayor 1 Resolution No. 68 -140 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
