HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-171 CCR1 1 Member John Leary its adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved RESOLUTION NO. 68 -171 RESOLUTION TO EXTEND WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE COVERAGE TO ELECTED OFFICIALS WHEREAS, elected officials of the City of Brooklyn Center are not currently covered by the City's workmen's compensation insurance policy; and WHEREAS, said elected officials in the performance of their official duties should be afforded such protection; and WHEREAS, it was assumed in the past that elected officials were automatically included with City employees under said insurance policy: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY The City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that workmen's compensation insurance coverage be extended to the elected officials of the City of Brooklyn Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance of the City of Brooklyn Center be directed to secure an endoresement to the existing workmen's compensation insurance policy that would insure such coverage. July 22, 1968 Date The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Theodore Willard and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted. 143
