HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-188 CCR1 Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 68 -188 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROVISIONS FOR A PARK CURFEW, AND DEFINING THE REASONS FOR SAME WHEREAS, numerous instances of vandalism have occurred in the parks of the City of Brooklyn Center; and, WHEREAS, numerous complaints have been stated by residents in the vicinity of certain parks relative to noise and other disturbances occurring during late night hours; and, WHEREAS, repeated and extensive enforcement efforts by the Police and Civil Defense Police have failed. to adequately mitigate the problems because of a lack of a legal basis for clearing the parks of persons who are most likely to commit acts of vandalism or distrubance when an enforcement authority is not present; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that an ordinance be enacted which will provide for applying a curfew to parks so posted by order of the City, Council; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the that City Council direct that the park property known as Bellview Park be posted for curfew between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. ATTEST: August 5, 1968 Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
