HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-034 CCRMember john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 68 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING AS STATE AID STREET A PORTION OF 66TH AVENUE NORTH AND REVOKING THE STATE AID DESIGNATION OF A SECTION OF 65TH AVENUE NORTH WHEREAS, 65th Avenue North between Bryant Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North in the City of Brooklyn Center has previously been designated as a State Aid street in accordance with the Laws of Minnesota 1959, Chapter 500, and is included as part of Segment No. 111 -030, and WHEREAS, the present alignment of 65th Avenue North is inadequate to sustain, the desired degree of upgrading to a 44 foot State Aid Section, and WHEREAS, a more suitable alignment is being acquired that does not conform to the existing description of this State Aid Segment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the proposed diagonal running street known as 66th Avenue North running northeasterly from the intersection of 65th Avenue North and Bryant Avenue North to the intersection of 66th Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North, be designated a State Aid Street and included as part of Segment No. 111 -030, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State Aid designation for 65th Avenue North between Bryant Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North be revoked, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Minnesota. BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Highways for his consideration, and that upon his approval of the designation and revocation of said streets, the designated portion will be improved and maintained as a State Aid Street to be numbered and incl+ed as a .art of State Aid Street Segment No. 111 -030. ATTEST: February 5, 1968 Date ayor ler The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Theodore Willard and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
