HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-041 CCRMember Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS, the present provisions of the Minnesota Liquor Control Statutes regarding local control are inflexible and prevent the local municipality from controlling the dispensation of intoxicating liquor with regard to local conditions and problems: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: ATTEST: RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING AMENDMENT OF MINNESOTA LIQUOR CONTROL STATUTES 1. The City Council encourages and supports legislation which would permit municipalities that now, or in the future, may operate municipal liquor dispensaries to issue private licenses for the on- premise consumption of intoxicating liquor while retaining the municipal "off- sale" facilities; 2. The representatives of the citizens of Brooklyn Center, both in the Senate and House of Representatives, are herewith urged to support any such legislation; 3. The Clerk is hereby directed to distribute copies of this resolution to the State Legislators representing the citizens of Brooklyn Center and to the chairmen of the appropriate legislative committees. February 5, 1968 Date RESOLUTION NO. 68 -41 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
