HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-054 CCR1 A 1 Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 68 -54 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 13,500 DOUBLE POSTCARDS WHEREAS, Section 6 :05 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center requires that the City Manager first obtain the approval of the City Council prior to making or letting contracts for the purchase of merchandise, materials or equipment, or any kind of construction work when the amount of such contract exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) but is less than twenty -five hundred dollars ($2,500.00); and WHEREAS, the City Manager has obtained quotations on the purchase of 13, 500 double postcards (stamped) and has determined that the quotation of the Postoffice in the amount of $1,350.00 for 13, 500 double postcards is the best quotation submitted: BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Manager be authorized to contract for the purchase of 13, 500 double stamped postcards in the amount of $1,350.00 from the Minneapolis Postoffice (Camden Station) ATTEST: March 4, 1968 Date The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Rydberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck, and Theodore Willard and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
