Member John Leary introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 67 -263
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES AND FEES
FOR THE USE OF AND CONNECTION TO THE SANITARY SEWER
SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER
WHEREAS, a municipal Public Utilities Department has been created for
the purpose of providing and maintaining water and sanitary sewer facilities
for the citizens of the City of Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of Brooklyn
Center that the Public Utilities Department be a self- sustaining entity through
revenue provided by a uniform schedule of rates and fees; and
WHEREAS, a new contract has been executed between Minneapolis and
Brooklyn Center, resulting in a "temporary" reduction in sewage charges to
Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Director of Public Works have
recommended that such a reduction be passed on to Brooklyn Center residential
customers; and
WHEREAS, consistent with Chapter 11 of the Brooklyn Center City
Charter, the City Council on August 21, 1967 conducted a public hearing at
which an opportunity was afforded all interested citizens to be heard:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the schedule of sanitary sewer rates and fees be amended
and adopted as follows:
AMENDED
SEWER DIVISION
RATE SCHEDULE
(Effective August 31, 1967)
A. Minimum Charges Per Unit
1. Single or double family residential $3.75 quarter
2. Multiple family residential 2. 65 quarter
3. All uses other than residential 3.75 quarter
B. Base Rate Per Unit
1. Single or double family residential 3.75 quarter
2. Multiple family residential 2.65 quarter
3. All uses other than residential which Metered water consumption
uses have a City approved water multiplied by the unit cost
meter. per thousand gallons of
providing sewer service

4. All uses other than residential $0.35 per fixture
which uses do not have a City unit quarter
approved water meter.
C. Fees
1. Permit fee $5.00 conn.
2. Connection fee $10.00 conn.
The unit cost per thousand gallons of providing
sewer service shall be based upon the Public
Utilities Department Audit Report current as of
July lst of each year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above amended schedule of sanitary
sewer rates and fees become effective with the August 31, 1967 billing.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Theodore Willard and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Gordon Erickson,
Howard Heck and Theodore Willard
and the following voted against the same: none
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
