HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-117 CCR Member Gordon Erickson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 67 -117 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DEMOLITION OF CITY OWNED HOUSE AT 66th AND LYNDALE AVENUES NORTH WHEREAS, on September 6, 1966, 66th Avenue North between Lyndale and 65th Avenues North was dedicated to the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, included in the dedicated street right -of -way was a 3- bedroom slab -frame house; and WHEREAS, at the time of dedication, the City indicated to the owners of property abutting 66th Avenue North that said house would be removed during 1967; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has advised that the construction of the house and its present state of repair prohibits the economical movement of the structure to another site, and therefore, the City Manager has recommended the structure be demolished: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Manager is hereby instructed to solicit quotations for removal of all salvagable material from the structure, and thereafter, to authorize such salvage activity. 2. Such revenues as may be derived from the aforementioned salvage operation shall be assigned to appropriate special assessment funds as a credit in favor of such special assess- ments levied against the property as may be outstanding. 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with the razing of the structure, said razing to be conducted by the Brooklyn Center Fire Department. April 24, 1967 Date 9 Mayor ATTEST: Clem, The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Theodore Willard and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: John Leary, Gordon Erickson and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
