HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-005 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 67 -5 RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING JANUARY 1, 1967 PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON LIBRARY BONDS ISSUED TANUARY 1, 1966 WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center did on November 8, 1965 adopt Resolution No. 65 -228 which appropriated the amount of $28,654.00 of the 1966 budget for Mayor and Council contingencies; and j WHEREAS, the sum of $14,700. 00 included in the contingency appropriation was reserved for principal and interest payments due January 1, 1967 on Library bonds to be issued on January 1, 1966; and WHEREAS, the Village Council did on December 13, 1965 adopt Resolution No. 65 -245 which provided for the payment of $190, 000.00 in Library bonds over a period of years; and WHEREAS, said resolution did declare that the sum of $20, 000.00 would be provided out of general funds of the Village for the January 1, 1967 principal and interest payments; and WHEREAS, after providing for the payment of construction costs of the Library, there is sufficient funds remaining from the sale of the bonds to reduce the amount to be provided out of general funds to the amount of $14,700.00 which was provided in the 1966 budget: BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to transfer the sum of $14, 700.00 from the General Fund Mayor and Council Contingency Account to the Library Bond Redemption Fund; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to transfer the sum of $5,300.00 from the Bond Fund to the Library Bond Redemption Fund. January 3, 1966 Date Mayor ATTEST:� Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
