HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-018 CCR Member Gordon Erickson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO.67 -18 RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE ENACTMENT OF HIGHWAY SAFETY LEGISLATION PROPOSED BY THE MUNICIPAL ATTORNEYS OF HENNEPIN COUNTY WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Brooklyn Center has noted with increasing concern the pressing need for amendment to certain of the traffic and driver's license laws of this state; and WHEREAS, we believe that the amendments and new legislation proposed by the Hennepin County Municipal Attorneys in their Report of Suggested Legislation will not only clarify certain portions of the law, but also improve the effectiveness of traffic law enforcement in this community, as well as throughout the state: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the legislative proposals prepared by the Hennepin County Municipal Attorneys are worthy of the most serious consideration of the Legislature of the State of Minnesota; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the governing body of this municipality does hereby support their enactment into law. January 23, 1967 a-'00X10 Date Mayor ATTEST: 4 y Cle k The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Theodore Willard, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
